Frequently Asked Questions

Are you licensed?

Yes, we are licensed. We have a C-12 Earthwork and Paving license issued by California’s State License Board. Our license number is 1093378. You can check our the status of our license here at California Department of consumer affairs.

Do you use coal tar sealers?

We do not apply coal tar sealants on our parking lots or driveways. The state of California has prohibited the use of these sealants due to their negative impacts. Research indicates that coal tar sealants leach chemicals into the environment that are toxic to aquatic life. They have also been linked to health issues in humans. For these reasons, we only use asphalt-based sealants that are more eco-friendly and safer for people.

What is asphalt milling?

Our asphalt milling services grind down 1-2 inches of worn asphalt to prep surfaces for new asphalt overlays. Asphalt overlays provide a cost-effective resurfacing solution that restores a smooth, durable surface to aging parking lots. Our milling process ensures proper bonding and longevity for the new asphalt overlay.

Do you work with homeowner associations?

We provide high-quality asphalt services for a wide range of clients including HOAs, property managers, churches, schools, municipalities, homeowners, government agencies and more. Our top priority is delivering excellent value and results for every customer.

Are you insured?

Yes, we are an insured paving contractor.

How long will an asphalt driveway last?

Unlike areas with freeze-thaw cycles, our moderate Southern California climate is ideal for asphalt parking lots. With proper installation, asphalt lots typically last 15+ years. With preventative maintenance like crack sealing and sealcoating, you can extend your parking lot’s lifespan to 25+ years.

How often should I have my parking lot seal coated?

Generally speaking, you should have your parking lot seal coated every 3-4 years. However, if you have a high-volume parking lot, such as a strip mall or fast-food restaurant, you may need sealcoating sooner.

How thick should an asphalt parking lot be?

Our experienced team tailors each commercial asphalt paving project to meet specific parking lot needs. Light-duty lots generally require 3"-4" asphalt laid over a 6" subbase, while heavy-use lots can need up to 6"-8" asphalt atop a 10"-14" base to withstand continual truck traffic. We collaborate with property managers and engineers to determine the ideal asphalt thickness and subbase depth for durable, long-lasting parking lots that meet each property's unique demands.

Can you help to ensure my parking lot meets ADA requirements?

Yes, we can. We stay up to date with changing federal and state regulations.
