Tear Outs & Replacement

Asphalt Milling & Overlays

Suppose the subbase of your existing parking lot is in good condition and there is only minor damage to the driving surface. In that case, you might consider an asphalt overlay, sometimes called resurfacing.

We start by milling (grinding) 1”-2” of the top layer of asphalt. The ground asphalt is removed, and then tack is applied. Tack helps the new hot asphalt bind with the existing asphalt.

Depending on the condition of your asphalt, we may only need to mill around transition areas, such as approaches, sidewalks, and aprons, to provide for a smooth transition. If the asphalt is void of binders or there is height/drainage issues, we may need to mill larger areas.

We will lay 1 to 3 inches of new asphalt over the existing asphalt, giving you a new parking lot.
