We recently completed a major milling and paving project at a busy shopping center in Temecula. The property experiences steady traffic every day, which means the surface must be reliable and safe for customers. The goal was to refresh the pavement without creating long interruptions for the businesses on site.

The project covered 255,000 square feet. We began by milling 1.5 inches of the existing asphalt. This produced approximately 2,200 tons of material, which will be fully recycled. Recycling the millings keeps usable material out of landfills and supports a more sustainable paving process.

After milling, we applied a tack coat to bond the new asphalt. We then installed a two-inch overlay using 2,400 tons of fresh asphalt. Every section was milled and paved the same day. This approach ensured parking availability and enabled the center to remain open throughout the workday. The full paving portion took ten days to complete.

We also addressed deterioration in the loading zones. These areas were paved with asphalt many years ago and had deteriorated due to constant truck traffic. To solve this, we replaced the damaged asphalt with five inches of concrete. The new concrete surface will withstand heavy equipment better and reduce future repairs.

This project delivered a stronger, smoother and longer-lasting surface for the entire property. We appreciate the opportunity to work with the management team in Temecula. If you need milling, asphalt paving or concrete improvements for a shopping center or commercial parking lot, we are ready to help.
